Our Merritt Island campus is just North of State Route 528 at 2088 N Courtenay Parkway. The cost of school tuition includes two uniforms, books, workbooks, study guides and a graduation kit. Additionally, students and their immediate family receive discounted services! Woot woot! Professionalism begins when you enroll in school. We adhere to a strict dress code policy of clean and unwrinkled school-issued uniforms and closed-toed shoes. No hats or profane clothing/jewelry allowed. Students are expected to not only be prepared but to ‘look the part’ when arriving at school, as this is your training ‘on the job’. Because this is adult education, students are expected to behave as professional working adults. We have a zero tolerance policy on harassment, violence, drugs or discrimination against any student, instructor, staff or client of Academy of Cosmetology. We strive to protect our learning environment by ensuring the safety of our students, patrons and staff. We have classes starting every Tuesday! Some programs may allow early entry, so please contact the campus for more information. In addition, we have some evening programs available. Employment of Barbers, Hairstylists and Cosmetologists is projected to grow 13 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations. Population growth will lead to greater demand for hair care services.The median annual wage for Cosmetologists was $24,830 in 2018. Employment of Manicurists and Pedicurists is projected to grow 13 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations. New types of nail services, such as mini-sessions and mobile manicures and pedicures, may drive employment growth. The median annual wage for Manicurists and Pedicurists was $24,330 in 2018. Employment of Skincare Specialists is projected to grow 14 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations. The desire among many women and a growing number of men to reduce the effects of aging will result in employment growth. Good job opportunities are expected. The median annual wage for Skin Care Specialists was $31,290 in 2018. Employment of Massage Therapists is projected to grow 26 percent from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations. Continued growth in the demand for massage services will lead to new openings for massage therapists. The median annual wage for Massage Therapists was $41,420 in 2018.
